Obituary--Dr. John B. Armstead.

Dr. John B. Armstead died at Topeka, Kansas, Thursday, July 9, at 12:20 a.m.
The deceased was born March 10, 1878, at Valley Falls, Kansas, where his early life was passed in the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Armstead. He was a graduate of the Kansas Medical College in the class of 1900 and subsequently completed a post graduate course in Chicago. Since his graduation he was constantly engaged in the practice of his profession at Winchester, Kansas, until last October when he removed to Topeka, residing at 1006 Morris Ave. He was honored and eminently successful in his profession. He was widely beloved as a physician and a neighbor.
He was united in marriage with Miss Minnie L. Griffin at Valley Falls March 30, 1898. On daughter, Mildred, was born to this union.
Dr. Armstead was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and of the Masonic and Odd Fellows orders.
He is survived by his wife, daughter, father, one brother and two sisters, George T. and Miss Fannie Armstead of Valley Falls and Mrs. Anna WELLMAN, Nemo, South Dakota.
The funeral was held by Dr. W.M. Balch, pastor of Lowman M.E. church at the residence of the deceased, Topeka, Friday July 10, at 2 p.m. The burial took place the same evening, at Valley Falls, the Masonic order officiating, his lodge from Winchester, taking charge of the services, the Valley Falls lodge attending in a body.
