Obituary

Ann Lavina Pesterfield was born in Hamilton county, Ohio, February 10, 1844. Died near Turon, Kas., March 21, 1916. Aged 72 years, 1 month and 11 days. At the age of 18 she was married to William Richard Adkins at Beardstown, Ill. To this union was born 10 children, seven daughters and three sons.

They came to Kansas about 32 years ago; the last four years residing with their daughter, Mrs. E. A. Gander. The deceased joined the M. E. church in 1892.

She leavs [sic] her husband, 1 sister, Mrs. Mary Ellen Sizelove, 5 daughters, 2 sons, 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and a host of friends to mourn her departure, for she was loved by all who met her.

Funeral services were held at the home at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon, March 23, conducted by Rev Hurst, assisted by Rev. Hinshaw, in the presence of a large and sympathetic congregation, after which interment was made in the Turon cemetery.

May our good Father in Heaven comfort all of the bereaved ones.
