Margaret Myers Francis 77,of Altavista, passed away Thursday October 30,2008,in Hurt ,Va. She was the wife of the late Eugene Thomas Francis Sr.
She was born in Halifax County ,Va December 28,1930 and was the daughter of the late Sydnor Myers and Annie Wynn Myers , and was a member of Catawba Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son Eugene (Tommy) Thomas Francis Jr. and his wife Susan of Hurt; two daughters Rebecca F.(Becky) Hillsman and her husband,Barry, of Hurt and Jean F. Stephens and her husband Mark ,of Dillsburg Pa.;one brother, William E. (Billy) Myers and his wife, Peggy of Hurt;six sisters , Frances Anderson,Edna James and her husband , B.J.,Virginia Hunter and her husband,Stafford,Betty Booker, Helen Angel and her Husband, Gurney and Hilda Waller and her husband, Kenneth;seven grandchildren,five great-grandchildren,and two great- great-grandchildren,;and a many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers,James ,Winston and Carl Myers.
Funeral service was Sunday November 2,2008 conducted by the Rev.Latta Terry, assisted by William (Billy) Myers at the Finch and Finch Funeral Chapel in Altavista with the burial at the Childrey Baptist Church Cemetery in Nathalie ,Va.
