Ruth L. Woolson, age 95, of Wells, MN, died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Mapleton Community Home in Mapleton, MN. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 8, 2007, at 10:30 AM at the United Methodist Church in Wells, MN. Visitation will be one-hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Pastor Art Keith will officiate. Interment will be in the Vernon Center Cemetery in Vernon Center, MN. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells is in charge of arrangements.
Ruth Lucille Woolson was born July 9, 1911, in Nevada, IA; the daughter of Emmet and Isabelle (Gossard) Purvis. She graduated from Garden City High School and Mankato Commercial College. She worked at the State Bank of Vernon Center until she married Merl James Woolson on July 9, 1932 in Amboy, MN at the Methodist Parsonage. They lived in Lake Crystal and Minneapolis where Merl was employed at Northrup King. They retired and moved to Wells in 1972 and spent 18 winters in Florida and Texas. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Woolson is survived by one daughter: Margaret and her husband Gordon Treptow of Wells, MN; 4 grandchildren Kimberly and husband Claire Johnson, Tamara Pearson, Craig and wife Cindy Treptow, John and wife Coleen Treptow; 1 step-grandchild: Sheila and husband Joe Samuelson; 8 great-grandchildren: Stephanie and husband Jeffrey Schoonover, Kristina and husband Adam Neubauer, Rebecca Steffens, Sarah Pearson, Brian Pearson, Casey Treptow, Christopher Treptow and Madison Treptow; 4 step-great-grandchildren: Luke Samuelson, Jesseah Samuelson, Gabe Samuelson, Myrrhiah Samuelson; 4 great, great grandchildren: Olivia Schoonover, Isabelle Schoonover, Lillian Neubauer, Kadyn Neubauer; 1 step great great grandchild: Ashton Samuelson; one sister-in-law: Abby Woolson and many nieces and nephews.
