Mildred P. West, aged 65, of University City, Mo., died Tuesday at her home. Born in Pocahontas, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Williford, a member of the AME Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was married to Ambus West Jr. in 1936. He preceded her in death this past Jan. 26. Survivors include two sons, Melvin West of Florissant, Mo., and Donald West of University City, Mo.; a daughter, Yvonne Pillow of University City, Mo.; two brothers, Ted Williford of Pocahontas and James Williford of St. Louis; four sisters, Willene Williford and Dorothy Williford, both of St. Louis, Rosie McGovock and Margell King, both of Peoria, IL; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services and burial will be Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the Scott Cemetery near Walnut Ridge under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service. (3A, TD – Wed. July 24, 1985)
