Funeral services for Alma Katherine Alsleben, 89, of Arlington will be held on Friday, Oct. 22, from Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, with the Rev. Thomas C. Boe officiating.
Mrs. Alsleben died on Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at the Arlington Good Samaritan Home.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Friday at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Allan Bussler, Any Bettcher, Byron Bussler, Todd Bussler, Curt Bussler and Bruce Bussler. Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery.
Alma K. Hahn was born on April 15, 1910, in New Auburn Township, Sibley County, to August and Louisa (Alsleben) Hahn. She attended school at District No. 48 in rural Gaylord.
She married Alfred Alsleben on Oct. 11, 1927, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. They lived on a farm west of New Auburn after their marriage. In 1943, she moved into New Auburn.
Mrs. Alsleben was a cook at the New Auburn Public School, worked at Fairway Grocery Store in New Auburn and at Green Giant in Glencoe.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, a member of the WELCA and taught Sunday school for 25 years.
She also was a member and past president of the New Auburn Senior Citizens, and charter member and past president of the Wonder Club of New Auburn.
Mrs. Alsleben enjoyed making quilts, embroidery work, gardening, flowers and babysitting her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Duane Bussler of rural Glencoe and Marilyn and Raymond Hahn of Gaylord; six grandchildren, Allan Bussler, Byron and Shelia Bussler, Curt and Evon Bussler, Amy and Joel Bettcher, Todd Bussler and Bruce Bussler; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Erna Henke of Gaylord and Delma Boese of Gaylord; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, on Aug. 8, 1943; brothers, Otto Hahn and Elmer Hahn; and sisters, Emma Polzin, Louise Franke and Ella Stark.
