Ruby Ipson Hatch,age 43,beloved Wife,Mother,Daughter,Sister,Aunt,Niece, cousin,and friend passed away Augest 26th,1958 in LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City due to complications of Hodgkins disease.Ruby was born on March 9th,1915,the third child of Joseph and Hattie Permelia Morrill Ipson in Junction,Piute County,Utah.
Ruby attended school in Junction until the eighth grade.Then she attended Piute High School in Circleville,seven miles south of Junction graduating in 1934.Ruby was a"Faithful"member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all her life.Ruby served as Secretary of the Primary in Junction,2nd Coucelor in the Y.W.M.I.A in Richfield, Richfield Sevier Stake Sunday School Board,Junior Sunday School teacher and in Koosharem as a Relief Society Block teacher and Seagulls teacher in Primary. Ruby worked various jobs during her life including the Tayhler Brothers Store and J C Pennys in Richfield.In January of 1946, Ruby met Vedell Hatch in Richfield and by the next year,on June 11th,1947, they were Married in the Manti Temple for time and all eternity.
They lived in Koosharem for a while,then they moved to Logan where Vedell was attending School.After his Graduation they moved back to Koosharem.In the Spring of 1956 they moved to Alpine.On April 2nd,1957 they moved to Orem near Ruby's brother John and his family,where they were living at the time of Ruby's death.
Vedell wrote this about Ruby after her passing away."There never was more faithful,loving wife on this earth than Ruby was,or none who appreciated things like Ruby did.She always worried for fear she may hurt someones feelings. Ruby was administered to by Apostle Harold B.Lee twice and Apostle George Morris once.Recieving wonderful Blessings.
The last two years Ruby was given over one-hundred and twenty pints of blood,which she took with very little complaint.She was never one to complain much about anything.She was always willing to help anyone who needed her help. Some of the last words I heard her say were"I wish I could do something to make you feel better and the last word she said to me was"thanks" when I helped her get a few drops of water".
Ruby is survived by Husband Vedell Hatch Orem,Mother Hattie Ipson ,Junction,children Jay Vedell,Jerald I,and Rosetta Ruby Hatch Orem,three brothers,five sisters,nieces and nephews,cousins,Aunts,Uncles and friends. Preceeded in death by son Lenard Joseph Hatch and Father John Ipson. Ruby's funeral was held in the Koosharem Ward,filled to capasity and then buried in the Koosharem Cemetery next to her son Lenard.
