Pamelia "Pattie" Gill was the daughter of Peter Gill (1797-1862) and Sarah "Sally" Earle Jones Gill (b 1810). She married D. S. "Mark" Allen (1838-1891), the son of James Allen and Amaryllis Morgan Allen. In 1881, D. S. Allen became the first Superintendent of Education Vance Co. when Vance County was formed.
