Otis Whetsell, 76, of North Charleston, widower of Kay Whetsell died Monday, November 3, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral Service will be held Thursday morning, November 6, 2008 at 11 o'clock at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o'clock this evening. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Salem United Methodist Church, 171 Railroad Drive, Dorchester, SC 29435.

Mr. Whetsell was born October 27, 1932 in Harleyville, South Carolina, son of the late Lonnie and Hattie Sweat Whetsell. He was a graduate of St. George High School. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict.

He was a member of the Scottish Rite Temple, Hammerton Lodge #332 and the Goose Creek American Legion Post 0166. He retired from the civilian service at the Charleston Air Force Base and Air Force Reserves. Surviving are one son and three daughters, Kenny Whetsell of Hanahan, Barbara Jarrett of Hanahan, Darlene Roszell of Ridgeville and Ginger Campanelli of North Charleston; six grandchildren, Zack and Ashton Jarrett of Hanahan, Jordy Roszell of Ridgeville, Tiffany and Allison Whetsell of Hanahan and London Campanelli of North Charleston; one sister, Elise Cohen of Orlando,
