Mrs. Frank Kosmicki died Sunday evening, May 26, at 9:25pm, at St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island, the cause of her death being acute rheumatic fever. Katie Silver was born in Warsaw, Poland, Sept. 18, 1878, and was 61 years, 8 months and 8 days of age.
She was married to John Ruzowski in 1897, to Valentine Knebel in 1900, to Frank Haupt in 1911 and to Frank Kosmicki in 1922. She came to America with her parents at the age of 2 years, locating in Platte county.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, May 29, at St. Francis church in Grand Island by Rev. A. Jarzenski. The pall bearers were six sons, Louis Ruzowski, Leon Knebel, Felix Knebel, Joe Knebel Edward Knebel and Theophil Kosmicki. Burial was at Loup City, with Rev. Zowekoski officiating at the cemetery.
Besides her husband, she leaves ten children: Louis Ruzowski, Elyria, Leon Knebel, Auburndale, Wis., Mrs. Anton Welniak, Elyria; Felix Knebel, Grant, Nebr.; Joe Knebel, Big Springs, Nebr.; Edward Knebel, Brule, Nebr.; Mrs. John Welniak, Elyria, Emil Haupt, Auburndale, Wis.; Mrs. Edmund Zeola, Ashton, and Theophil Kosmicki, Ashton.
There are also 20 grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters living: Charles Silver, Mike Silver and Anton Silver, all of Loup City; Jim Silver and Joe Silver of Big Springs; John Silver, Willamette, Ore.; Mrs. Joe Gembala, Loup City, Mrs. John Miodowski, Litchfield, and Mrs. John Gembala, Ashton, Mrs. Frank X. Golka, Ord, Mrs. Stanley Golka, Elyria and Mrs. James Jablonski, Elyria.
