Death Summons Estimable Woman

Mrs. Annie Maria Anderson, wife of Oscar Anderson, and who has been a resident of Gunnison since 1880, died at her home in this city last Saturday evening. The end came peacefully, though she had suffered much during her brief illness. Mrs. Anderson was stricken with an attack of the flu just six days before her death. Complications of long standing resulted in peritonitis which resulted in the untimely calling of the highly respected citizen. While her hosts of friends knew of her illness, none suspected the serious condition, and the announcement of the death cast a gloom of sorrow over the entire community.

Mrs. Anderson sacrificed her early life, insofar as attending to outside functions. For twenty-three years she gave a devotion of love and attention to an invalid mother, who was constantly bedfast. The mother passed away only a few years ago, but before her death her daughter, the one who has just passed to the great unknown, was ever watchful for the comfort and care of the mother. Her devotion won for her the respect of all and she was loved and admired by all who knew her.

Mrs. Anderson was a native of Sweden, having been born at Oreground, November 14, 1877. She was the daughter of Niels and Johanna Albertina Peterson. The family came to America in 1880, settling in Gunnison. On June 14, 1911, she was married to Oscar G. Anderson. Besides the husband, Mrs. Anderson is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Theresa McPhee of Salt Lake City, and Miss Sarah Peterson of Los Angeles. The sisters are here and will remain until after the burial services. Other relatives in the city, being summoned on account of the death, are Mrs. C. J. Sax of Bingham, Miss Jessie McPhee and Alfred McPhee of Salt Lake.

Funeral services will be held from the Relief society hall this, Thursday, afternoon, at one thirty. Bishop Leslie Kidman will be in charge.
