The son of Josiah and Martha Amanda Gribble Mckee, married 16 November 1890 in Montague County, Texas, Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Fletcher, daughter of George Washington and Susan B. Guerin Fletcher She was born 25 December 1844 in Indian Territory and died 7 February 1910 in Garvin County, Oklahoma.

William's family is listed in the 1910 census for :McKee, Robert W. 47 born in MO, Andress 16 son born in TX, Clara 13 daughter born in OK, George 11 son born in OK, Manda 5 daughter born in OK, Charley 3 son born in OK, Anna 9 months daughter born OK.

He married a widow June 1910 in Garvin County, Oklahoma, Mrs. M. J. Charles. In 1915 in Garvin County, Oklahoma he married Rhoda, the widow of his first wife's brother Thomas Jasper Fletcher.
