On May 2, 1970 Sergeant Robert Ray Neel began his tour in Vietnam on July 2, 1969.

He apparently served at both Cam Rahn Bay and Nha Trang as a security policeman.

Sgt. Neel was killed due to a weapons incident at Cam Ranh Bay."

Officially the Air Force listed the casualty reason as "Accidental Homicide." .

************************************
Memorial of AP/SP KIA or Line of DutyWas just perusing the memorial and saw the entry for NEEL, Robert Ray was incomplete.

Bobby was killed due to a weapons horseplay incident at Cam Ranh Bay AB.

I believe he was on in-country R & R from the 14th or the 90th SPS at Nha Trang, having departed PCS from Cam Ranh Bay AB for N T earlier.

Anyway, perhaps his memorial will be able to be complete now.

Thanks Clifford Wilson
