Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Berry B. Sr. and Sarah Jane Medlin. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Medlin retired from Southern Weaving after 22 years of service and pursued a career in construction as a carpenter and millwright. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and enjoyed playing golf very much. He was a loving husband, father and papa and was a wonderful outgoing man. Mr. Medlin was a member of Truth Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Doris Garner Medlin; a daughter, Susan Woodard, of Greenville; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashley and Sarah Moon and Cameron Woodard; four sisters, Judy Turner and Lovenia Rochester of Greenville, Jeanette Moody of Easley and Sue Holcombe of Simpsonville; and a brother, Berry B. Medlin Jr. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Medlin.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
