Irene E. Brody, 72, 1619 1 Ave. ne, a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids, and formerly of Vinton, died Saturday afternoon at her home, following a long illness. Bom March 13, 1914, in Davis County, she married John "Rusty Brody on June 12, 1948, at Cedar Rapids. She worked at Killians for many year and was an Avon representative until her retirement. Survivors include her husband; a sister, Ivalee Heafner of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a brother, Milo Abernathy Jr. of Hiawatha; two stepdaughters, Patricia Cirkl of Robins, and Judy Paul of California; 10 stepgrandchildren, and six stepgreat-grandchil-dren. Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, by the Rev. Charles West of Hope United Church of Christ, Hiawatha. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home today from 4 to 9 p.m. and at the chapel after noon on Tuesday. The casket will be closed prior to the service. A memorial fund has been established.
