Early Grady "Earl" Carter, was born 19 May, 1907, the sixth child of Daniel Mansfield Carter and Dora Bell Hamric (or Hambrick) Carter. As his name says, he was born "early" - prematurly but lived. As he got older, he started using Earl as his first name. He married Deltha Berry 17 Feb. 1929 and had two sons. In addition he and his wife adopted and raised Earl's orphaned baby nephew, Raymond Grady Holieday (1930-1987) who later changed his name to Carter (he was the youngest of five children born to Earl's sister, Etta Carter Holiedy). Earl passed away on 21 April 1960 and his wife on Jan. 1, 1989. He was buried on April 23, 1960, according to his death certficiate # 11346.
