VIRGINIA LaDELLE Of Oakland, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2004 at the age of 71. Virginia was born in Lincoln, TN, daughter of Towery D. and Nellie M. Jones and had 3 siblings. She graduated from Athens College, Athens, AL with an Associates of Arts degree in Business Administration. She served in the Air Force for 4 years. She marred Ronald E. Carpenter in February 1957 and had 4 children. After 33 years working in the moving and storage industry, she retired in 2002. She was a member of the Women in the Air Force Association. Gin, as her friends called her, was known for her strong will, determination, humility and thoughtfulness. She was a caring and loving mother and grandmother. Her words were few but of great quality. She enjoyed gardening, reading, classical music and being with friends. She is survived by 2 sons, Ron Carpenter and wife, Patricia of Chandler, AZ and Mark Carpenter and wife, Carmen and 2 grandchildren, Daniel and Michelle of Castro Valley, CA; 2 sisters, Marie Hopkins of Taft, TN and Alberta Jones of Cottondale, AL and a brother, William Jones of Moss Point, MS. Friends and family are invited to attend the Veterans Service on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at Golden Gate National Cemetery, 1300 Sneath Lane, San Bruno at 1:00 p.m. and the memorial service on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3035 D. Street, Hayward at 1:00 p.m.
