Robert Patterson

Robert E. Patterson of Union City passed away early Wednesday morning, November 5, 2008, at Brown County Health and Living in Nashville. He was 82.

He was born April 26, 1926, in Randolph County, the son of John J. and Audrey (Benson) Patterson.

He was a 1944 graduate of Modoc High School. Retiring in 1991, Mr. Patterson had worked as a truck driver for 35 years at C&J Commercial Driveway, a division of Union City Body Company.

He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Orville N. Stover Post 158, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and Teamsters Local #135.

Survivors include a son, Keith (Connie) Patterson of Nashville; a sister, Maxine Miller of Kingman, Arizona; a brother, Donnie (JoAnn) Patterson of Farmland; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 53 years, Velma Patterson; a son, Rodney Patterson; and a brother, Walter Patterson.

A service to celebrate his life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, at Fraze-Brooks Memorial Chapel, 432 Pearl Street in Union City. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Maxville.
