RETIRED FARMER TAKEN BY DEATH
Elijah Newton, aged 83 years, retired farmer of the Lowell neighborhood, died at the home of his son, Everett Newton, at Lowell on Friday at 2 a.m. Death was due to infirmities.
Mr. Newton was born near Beverly on January 21, 1851. He moved to a farm near Lowell many years ago and spent the remainder of his life in the Lowell community. Surviving are five sons and two daughters, Vernon C. Newton of Beverly; Everett H. Newton of Lowell; Ernest Newton of Ravenna; Frank D. Newton of Cleveland; Harold A. Newton of Columbus; Mrs. Florence Gelzheimer of Cleveland and Mrs. Ethel Brown of Waterford.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the G. A. Spies funeral home in Lowell. Rev. O.W. Breuhaus will officiate. Interment will be made in Beverly cemetery. Friends wishing to view the body may call at the Spies funeral parlors.
