He was born February 10, 1935 in Bridgeport to Charles and Bertha (Earnst) Price and married Irene M. Wilson, who proceeded him in death in 1987.
James, a proud veteran, served in the United States Navy from August 1953 to June 1964. After his service, James worked in several fields, most notably security and industrial maintenance. Retired for many years, James was a member of the VFW and American Legion posts in Olney.
James' children include: James R. Price, Jr.; Bryan Price; Tina Price, and Tricia Price. He is also survived by sister, Carol Cornwell and three aunts: Pauline Scranton; Norma Thomas, and Francis Arnold. He was also a proud grandfather of three and a great grandfather of three.
James was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bertha Price, his wife Irene, one sister and two aunts, Dorothy and Cleo.
A funeral service was held for James R. "Jim / Jimmy" Price, Sr. at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Burial took place at the Bridgeport City Cemetery.
