Gayla Lynette "G.G." Hicks graduated from Grove High School, and continued her education at Rogers State and also at Tulsa Community College. She was a Registered Paramedic as well as a Registered Repiratory Therapist. At the time of her death she was working at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa,OK.
She had the enjoyment of spending time with here grandchildren in addition to here love of fishing both fresh water and deep sea fish. A hobby Gayla expressed a great passion for was "NASCAR. She also enjoyed walking on beaches and shell collecting. Gayla was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by her husband, Kerry; daughters Caitlin Lyne Lewis and Sarah Renae Hazelwood; her parent, Harold Wayne and Judith Kaye (Ketchum) Thompson; grandchildren; Matthew Roach, Abigail Smart, Dakota Hazelwood, and Adrianna Hazelwood; a sister Shanna Heustis and her husband, Michael; a brother Randy Thompson;
father and mother-in-law, Benny and Pat Hicks; sister and brother-in-law, Chandra and Mac Robinson; nieces; Hailey Heustis and Tori Hicks; and nephews; Bryce Weinrich and Tanner Robinson.
G.G. was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eva Mae Ketchum and Herman Robert Ketchum; as well as her aunts, Margie Larson and Pauline Ketchum.
A Memorial service was held in her honor on Tuesday Nov. 11th 2008 at the Foyil United Methodist Church; Officiated by Pastor Cindy Robertson. Her ashes were given to family.
