She had the enjoyment of spending time with here grandchildren in addition to here love of fishing both fresh water and deep sea fish. A hobby Gayla expressed a great passion for was "NASCAR. She also enjoyed walking on beaches and shell collecting. Gayla was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by her husband, Kerry; daughters Caitlin Lyne Lewis and Sarah Renae Hazelwood; her parent, Harold Wayne and Judith Kaye (Ketchum) Thompson; grandchildren; Matthew Roach, Abigail Smart, Dakota Hazelwood, and Adrianna Hazelwood; a sister Shanna Heustis and her husband, Michael; a brother Randy Thompson;
father and mother-in-law, Benny and Pat Hicks; sister and brother-in-law, Chandra and Mac Robinson; nieces; Hailey Heustis and Tori Hicks; and nephews; Bryce Weinrich and Tanner Robinson.
G.G. was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eva Mae Ketchum and Herman Robert Ketchum; as well as her aunts, Margie Larson and Pauline Ketchum.
A Memorial service was held in her honor on Tuesday Nov. 11th 2008 at the Foyil United Methodist Church; Officiated by Pastor Cindy Robertson. Her ashes were given to family.
