Major Jeter was killed when the Delta Air Lines Inc. DC 8 training flight he was on crashed while simulating a two engine out landing at New Orleans International Airport. There were 4 other pilots and 1 FAA
observer onboard the trainer that were killed. There were 13 other fatalities on the ground.
