Kenneth J. Konop, 99, of Kansas City, MO died peacefully November 13, 2008. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas More Church at a later date. Inurnment will be held at St. Malachy's Cemetery, Brownsburg, Indiana. The family requests no flowers and donations made to a charity of the donor's choice or to the Law Building Fund at University of Notre Dame, Attn: Dean Patricia O'Hara, 203 Law School, Notre Dame, IN 46336-0780.
Kenneth was born December 20, 1908 at Kewaunee, WS, the son of Thomas and Madge Konop. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where he was a high jumper for the track team coached by legendary Knute Rockne. Mr. Konop worked his entire career as a corporate attorney for the American Telephone and Telegraph Company and its subsidiary Indiana Bell. He was very proud to receive a monthly check from AT&T since September of 1931. Mr. Konop was a member of St. Thomas More Church, AT&T Pioneers Club, the Notre Dame Alumni, the Indiana, Ohio and Missouri Bar Associations.
Mr. Konop was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anna M. (Maloney)Konop; two brothers, William and Philip Konop; two sisters, Kathleen McCarthy and Margaret Robinson. He is survived by daughters Peggy and Jane Konop; son, Jerry Konop; a granddaughter, Angela Konop; several nieces and nephews. (Arrangements: Muehlebach Funeral Home, 816-444-2060)
