Charlotte was the daughter of Charles Robert and Josephine Magill Baker. She married Kenneth Sharp Connella on 6 May 1935 in Richmond, Contra Costa, California, USA. They spent most of their marriage in Burbank, Los Angeles, California, where they reaised their five sons, Richard, Jim, Bob, Don and Jack. Although she and Kenneth still lived in their Burbank home at the time of her death, Charlotte was being cared for by her son, Rick, and his wife, Joan, in their home in Orange County, during the illness that took her life.
