At his request, no services will be held for Verne C. Chaney of McMinnville. Interment will be at Arvada Cemetery in Arvada, Colo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville.
Mr. Chaney died on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, at Brookdale Senior Living in McMinnville. He was 86.
He was born March 15, 1922, in Boise, Idaho, the son of Clarence and Lulu (Crouch) Chaney.
He served as a mechanic in the Army during World War II.
On April 18, 1946, he married Ida Mae Waters in Toppenish, Wash.
He retired in 1987 as an engineer at Martin Marietta Aerospace in Denver, Colo.
Mr. Chaney enjoyed working in his rose garden and spending time on genealogy research on the Chaney and Crouch lineage.
He relocated to McMinnville in 2005.
Survivors include his daughter, Vernice Seyfer of Willamina; a son, Forrest Chaney of Scotts- dale, Ariz; a brother, Glenn Chaney of Boise, Idaho; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and a sister.
