Oscar Jake Mace, 83, died Sunday morning, March 30, 1980, at his home on S. Grand Avenue in Eldon. Mr. Mace was born in Linn Creek June 11, 1896, son of John and Linda Reardian Mace. On May 11, 1930, he was married in Eldon to Lilly White DeMott who survives at the home.Mr. Mace was a member of the Ninth Street Christian Church in Eldon. He was a retired laborer. In addition to his wife he leaves four daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Wanda) Hollis of Florissant, Mrs. Calvin (Lilly) Popp of Eldon, Mrs. Jack (Bertha) Napier of Escondido, Calif., and Mrs. Tom (Gladys) Callahan of Joplin; two sons, Oscar Mace, Jr. and Dewey DeMott, both of Eldon; 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Griswold-Kays Funeral Chapel in Eldon. The Rev. Kenneth Carpenter and the Rev. Calvin St. Clair officiated. Burial was in the Eldon Cemetery.
