Mr. Wallace, 87, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 in Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his brothers, Charles and Paul Wallace.
T. G. "Jerry" Wallace was born July 28, 1917 to his parents, Harry and Margaret Goeken Wallace in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He joined the Iowa National Guard February 1, 1941. His unit was one of the first units to go to Camp Claiborne. He was in the 168th Infantry, 34th Division. He attained the rank of First Sargent and served in North Africa, Algiers, and Tunis. He served in Italy, being at Monte Casino and Anzio.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Yellow Pine Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons. When he retired he was Postmaster of the Oakdale, Louisiana Post Office. He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Mary Allen Wallace of Oakdale; one son, Don Dee Allen of Pineville; two daughters, Jan Allen of Evanston, Illinois and Lynn Hicks of Farmerville and one grandchild, Alexandra Hicks of Farmerville.
