William Patrick Coyne, known as Bill, was born in approximately 1901, in New York City, to Patrick Coyne and Catherine Coyne, nee Dowling, both born in Ireland. He worked as a plasterer and on September 13th, 1931, he wed Genevieve Mary Haveron at St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church, E. Tremont & Morris Avenues, Borough of the Bronx, City of New York. At the time, he was living at 179 First Street, New York, and Genevieve was living at 15 E. Tremont Avenue, the Bronx. The marriage was witnessed by Edward D. Coyne, believed to be a brother of William, and Irene G. Haveron, sister of Genevieve. William and Genevieve had two children, Patricia (b. 1932) and Richard William (b. 1934). William and Genevieve were living at 2593 Grand Concourse when William became ill 7.5 years later. William died at Fordham Hospital, from a brain tumor. His wife and his wife's sister Irene were by his side. He left behind a 35-year-old widow and a 4-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter. His legacy was his son and daughter, nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

William was buried May 10, 1939, and is the third person interred in the Haveron-Coyne plot in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. His mother-in-law Annie Haveron was the first, her daughter Anna Marie was the second, her daughter Dorothy was the fourth, and Genevieve Coyne, nee Haveron, was the fifth person interred.
