Passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at home in Santa Rosa. Oliver was born in Boyle, Mississippi on June 22, 1922. He is survived by his beloved wife Willie L. Barton of Santa Rosa; his children, Robbie Wyatt of Mesa, AZ, Christine Davis of Santa Rosa, Oliver J. Barton, Jr. of Santa Rosa, Razal D. Barton of Santa Rosa, Antonio W. Barton of Santa Rosa and Demitres D. Hopkins of Apache Junction, AZ. Also survived by his son-in-law, Curtis Wyatt, III of Mesa AZ; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Oliver was a veteran of the US Army, Technician 5th grade, 1942-1946, a member of the Community Baptist Church Choir, the Evening Stars, Soul Searchers Gospel Groups and the Rambling Stars R.V. Club. He loved camping and fishing throughout California and crabbing in Bodega Bay. Friends and family are invited to attend a church service, Wednesday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Baptist Church with Reverend James Coffee officiating.
