DALE REEVE, TIPTON RESIDENT, DIES IN UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL
Dale Reeve, a widely known and highly esteemed Tipton man, died Saturday, April 2nd at 12:30 a.m. at the University hospital in Iowa City, where he had recently submitted to surgery. Memorial services were held at the Sheets & Dahn funeral home in Tipton on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. A. C. Long officiating. Interment was in Red Oak Grove cemetery.
Dale Ransom Reeve was born February 24, 1899, on a farm near Tipton, the son of Edwin and Eldora Culver Reeve. He lived his entire life in the Tipton community and was a member of the First Methodist church, having transferred from the Virginia Grove church. He was married July 11, 1918, in Tipton to Florence Edith Titman.
Mr. Reeve died April 2, at University Hospitals following surgery on March 28.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Robert, James and Jack, all of Tipton; five daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Marjorie) Barnes, Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Albaugh, Mrs. Robert (Marilyn) Traurig, and Mrs. Forrest (Beverly) Fitch, all of Tipton, and Mrs. Russell (Eldora) Miller of Bennett; 23 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Blanche Owen, and one brother, Neal, both of Tipton; 2 half brothers, James M. Reeve of Tipton and Edwin Reeve of Seattle, Wash.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons, Delbert, killed in World War II, and Paul, who died in infancy; one brother, Mearl, two half-brothers, Albert Reeve and Francis Reeve, and 2 half-sisters, Mrs. Susan Morton and Mrs. Fannie Pierce.
