VISE, Evan H., 89, of 706 N. Maple St., Benton died at 3:42 p.m. Nov. 2, 1988, at the Franklin Hospital in Benton. Mr. Vise was born in Franklin County on Aug. 7, 1899, the son of H. C. and Eller McGUIRE VISE. He was married to Goldie MOORE VISE, who died in 1961 and to Lena COTTER VISE, of Benton, who survives. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and was a 50 year member of the Macedonia Masonic Lodge #1128.
Mr. Vise was a well known merchant in the area, as he had owned and operated the Vise Bros. General Store in that community for over 50 years. He is also survived by three sons: Harvey and Hossa VISE of Macedonia and James M. VISE of Benton; and two grandchildren. Mr. VISE was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Clyde VISE, John VISE and Hosea VISE; three sisters, Nellie JOHNSON, Ora HUGHES and Ava SPARKS. Funeral services at Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, Rev. Mike EVERSOLE officiating. Interment in Macedonia Cemetery.
