Roy L. Roberts, Sr.

Funeral services for Roy L. Roberts, Sr., 79, Van Buren, Ark., formerly of Pryor, were Monday, Nov. 17, 2 p.m., at the First Free Will Baptist church of Pryor with the Rev. Glenn Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Big Cabin Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Key Funeral Home of Pryor.

Roberts was born May 18, 1929, in Big Cabin, to Harvey S. Roberts and Emma S. (Ikenberry) Roberts. He died Nov. 13, in Van Buren, Ark. He spent two years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. After his discharge from the Army, he was hired by Georgia Pacific Paper Plant in May 1953. He worked there until he retired in March 1994. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sons, Roy L. Roberts, Jr. and wife Sandy, Alma, Ark. and Ralph Roberts and wife Sherry, Alma, Ark.; five daughters, Linda Mayfield and husband Dan, Cedarville, Ark., Terry Leach, Claremore, Stefanie Flewallen and husband Ken, Broken Arrow, Melissa Gum and husband DeWane, Stillwater and Lea Ann Roberts, Oklahoma City; two brothers, Guy Roberts and wife Drucilla, Claremore and Joe Roberts and wife Faye, Pryor; two sisters, Eva Koscheski and husband Clyde, Pryor and Kay Callison and husband Frank, Pryor; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and very special friend, Cora Sue VanKirk, Van Buren, Ark.
