Died, at 9:05 o'clock Sunday night, July 26, at the home of her son, A. W. Redd, following three hours after she had been stricken with apoplexy, Mrs. Katherine A. Redd, wife of John W. Redd, a grain dealer of this city, aged 67 years. The death of Mrs. Redd comes as a sad surprise to her many friends in this city, she having made her home here since in birth in May, 1847, in or near Springfield.
Decedent, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cartmel Crockett, was married in 1876, and had been during her life a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and a member of the Court of Honor and the Royal Neighbors.
She leaves to mourn her loss beside many friends in this county, her husband John W. Redd; two sons, Alfred W. Redd and Thomas E. Redd; three daughters, Mrs. Earl Eaton, Mrs. Julia Reeves, all of Springfield, and Mrs. Sarah McCann of Frazier, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Roberts of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Julia Popp of Custer.
