He was retired from the B & O Railroad where he worked in the car shop. Survivors include one son, Walter F. Ayersman, Jr. of Gary, Ind., one brother, George Ayersman of Frederick, Md.; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Shaffer of Frederick and Mrs. Ethel Greenwald of St. Petersburg, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosa Emaline Thompson Ayersman, March 23, 1976.
