Bernice Helen "Bunny" Birdwell, 91, Indianapolis, passed away November 19, 2008. She was born February 13, 1917 in Kokomo, IN to Grandison and Hazel Brunnemer. Bunny was preceded in death by her brothers, Henry, Robert and Jack Brunnemer and her sister, Margaret Skifstrom. She was also preceded in death by her son, Lowell Birdwell. She is survived by her daughters, Marsha C. Presley (Don) and Diane S. Romel (Karl); grandchildren, Chris Presley (Tracy), Erika Twyford (Michael), Brian Rugg, Brad C. Rugg (Tiffany); six great grandchildren, Madison and Luke Presley, Grace and Annie Twyford and Chenoa and Amanda Rugg. Also several nieces and nephews she was close to as well. Bunny graduated from Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Kokomo, IN. She began her long career as an R.N., first at St. John's Hospital in Anderson, IN. She taught nursing at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN, and then became an R.N. for the L.S. Ayres Co. of Indianapolis. Bunny retired as an Industrial Nurse for Allison General Motors after 23 years of service. She then was able to pursue her passion for baking and giving to her family and friends.
