Pauline Johnson Keegan, 95, of Fairhaven, MD daughter of Harry and Mary Theresa (Meisling) Johnson died Aug. 11, 2004 at the Calvert County Nursing Center in Prince Frederick.

Born in Frederick, MD, Mrs. Keegan graduated in 1927 from Frederick High School. She worked as a cashier at the Tivoli theater in Frederick, where she met Russell E. Keegan.

They were married in 1931 and lived in the Washington area until his death in 1974. She then moved to Fairhaven, MD.

A homemaker, she was a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in North Beach and had volunteered at Providence Hospital in Washington for many years. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, crocheting and cooking, especially crab cakes.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Keegan Grigsby of Upper Marlboro and Polly Keegan Wood of Owings; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late M. Elizabeth Geisbert and Anna M. Gordon.

A Mass of Christian burial was offered Saturday at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Upper Marlboro, followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton. Arrangements were by Rausch Funeral Home in Owings.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvert County Nursing Center, 85 Hospital Road, Prince Frederick, MD 20678.
