James T. Anthony died at the home of his son-in-law, James S. Kreeger on Water St, Tuesday night at 9:30, aged 73 years and 6 months. He had attended a conference at Cambridge and returned home feeling poorly. He went to bed and died without a struggle while his daughter was seated in the room, thinking he was asleep.
The deceased was born near Queen Anne, taught school at Salem and afterward managed the estate of the late John A. Clough and later living on a farm near Chestertown. He was an ardent Prohibitionist. He was a citizen of high character, humble, industrious and esteemed throught out the town, county and state.
He is survived by three son and four daughters; namely, Randolph (Ohio), Rumsey and Townsend (Chestertown); Mrs English (N.C.) Mrs Jester (Alexandria VA), Mrs J. S. Kreeger (Chestertown) and Miss Estelle (Washington)
