MOREHOUSE, Mo. — Opal Bernice Brashears, 79, of Morehouse died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 5, 1929, in Lamar, Ark., daughter of Bradley and Anna Grace Carter. She and Billy Lee Brashears were married Dec. 26, 1954. He died June 30, 1986.

Survivors include two sons, a daughter, four brothers, two sisters, five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, Mo.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jimmy Vent officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley, Mo.
