WALTER RUSKOWSKI
Walter Ruskowski went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 14, 2002, as a result of long term diabetic related problems and congestive heart failure. He was born on January 28, 1916 in Chicago Heights, Illinois. While stationed at Camp Chaffee in Ft. Smith, AK, he met and married Hazel Hill. He was then sent to Europe where he served honorably in General George Patton's Third Army and stayed there for the duration of world War II. Returning home to America he moved his family back to the Chicagoland area where he worked at the Inland Steel Company until his retirement in 1978. He was a mechanical Foreman after getting his Associates Degree from Purdue University.

When he married Hazel, his loving wife of 58 years, he promised her that if she agreed to move to Indiana and live there, they would return to the South after he retired. True to his word, they moved to Edmond, OK. Where he designed and built their present home.

He loved to work with his hands, There wasn't any thing he couldn't repair. With his great mechanical aptitude he was first class "Mr. Fix It." He also had a compassionate heart for his fellow man and loved animals. Our pets were pampered members of our family.

He was Deacon at Fairview Baptist Church and an Ordained Minister who loved and served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, faithfully all of his life.

Walter Ruskowski was a dedicated Christian witness, a loving husband and a wonderful father. He is survived by his wife Hazel; his only son, Jim Ruskowski; sister in law, Bernice Blair, Edmond; Nephews, David Blair - (Debbie Lynn and family, Steve Blair (Debbie Kay and Family), Paul Blair (Cindy and Family) all of Edmond; Cousin, Sally Links and son of Chicago, nephew, David Yandell (Helen) of Indiana; nieces, Martha Jaronski (and family) and Linda Moseley of Indiana; sister in law, Margaret Hill of Houston, TX; nieces, Judy Hill (and family) and Jan Hill (Clint and family) of Houston, TX.
