EARLY PIONEER RESIDENT OF EDDYVILLE PASSES AWAY
Although she had been sick for sometime, the death of Mrs. Kate Lemmon came as a shock to her friends and relatives last Thursday afternoon.
Mr and Mrs. L.A. Lemmon were among the early settlers of Eddville, they moving here from Ohio in the fall of 1878. Mr. Lemmon died about six years ago, but Mrs. Lemmon has been a resident of this vicinity for nearly half a century.
The funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternnoon at 2:30, her pastor Rev. C. C. Goltry officiating. The Rebekah Lodge of which Mrs. Lemmon was a member, gave their ritualistic service. The music was furnished by a mixed quartette consisting of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Shine, Mrs Roy Lafferty and Rev. C. C. Goltry. The sons and grandsons acted as pall-bearers, interment was made at Highland Cemetery.
