L. M. Chapin, 85, died today at 7 a.m. at Longview hospital in Ashtabula county after a lingering illness. He resided in Painesville part of the year, staying with his daughter, Mrs. Eugene Brisbin of Liberty St.
He was born in Ashtabula county on May 30, 1858. In 1929 his health failed and since that time he had spent part of the year with Mrs. Brisbin and the remainder of the year with another daughter, Mrs. W. J. Webb of Ashtabula.
Survivors, in addition to Mrs. Brisbin and Mrs. Webb, include a stepdaughter, Mrs. A. L. Trumbull, of Austinburg, five granddaughters, three grandsons, two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
