HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. Jack H. Chavous husband of Iva Jean Blanchard Chavous of 53 years, entered into rest Thursday, November 27, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services will be Monday, December 1, 2008, at 3:00 P.M., from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Mr. Steven Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery. Mr. Chavous was a born in Richmond County to the late Warren H. and Harriett Newman Chavous. He was a retired machinist with Master Fabricaters for 20 years. He enjoyed Racing , Gospel Music and candy making. Mr. Chavous is preceded in death by his brother and sister George Chavous and Dorothy Chavous. Additional survivors include: his sons and daughters in law, Wendy and Robin Chavous of Hephzibah, Steven and Teresa Chavous of Blythe, Jay and Tonja Chavous of Hephzibah, his daughters and son in law, Angela Nations of Augusta, Rhetta and Ray Story of Martinez, his sister in law, Shirley Chavous of Augusta, Nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Active pallbearers will be Devin Nations, Wendell Chavous, Shay Chavous, Johnny Gamble, Andy Stewart and Brian Stewart. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Story and Kevin Howard.
