FLORA L.TIDWELL DeCOURLEY, born July 22, 1921 in Hardin County, TN, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, December 4, and service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, both at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel. Interment will be held in Memory Hill Gardens. Mrs. DeCourley retired from Sears, was a member of Second Baptist Church, The Rebecca Class, Chickasaw Bluff Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of American Colonists, Colonial Dames 17th Century, Dames of the Court of Honor, and Sons and Daughters of the Pilgrims. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Abels Tidwell and Joe A. Tidwell; husband M. James Claude DeCourley, who died on July 5, 2001. She is survived by daughters, Claudette DeCourley and her husband, Dan Miller of San Diego, CA and Janie Haynes of Memphis; grandson, Scott Haynes; sister, Callie Tidwell May of Savannah.
