Mary Elizabeth Shear was born Dec. 19, 1852 and died July 14, 1915. She was united in marriage to Uriah C. Aplin September 1871. Mr. Aplin was killed in the Senecaville mines July 28, 1903. Eleven children were born to this union, of which 9 are living and 2 proceded her to the great beyond. Mrs. Margaret McMann and Magor Aplin of Cambridge, Edward Aplin, Mrs. Bertha Purdum, Wade and George of this place, Thomas and Fay of Belle Valley, Mrs. Belle Harbaugh of Bicknell, Ind. She is also survived by her aged mother, two sisters, four brothers, Mrs. Charles Heidelbaugh of Lore City, Mrs. William Morrison of Byesville, Joseph Shear of Cambridge, John of Zanesville, Den and Charley of Senecaville. Twenty-three grand children and three great grandchildren. She was a loving and kind wife, mother and neighbor. Will be greatly missed by all. The funeral was held Friday at 1 o'clock at the home of her son Edward. Conducted by Rev. J.W. Rich, assisted by Rev. Davis of the M.E. Church. Interment in the Senecaville cemetery. The friends have the sympathy of all. The floral tributes were many and beautiful.
