George Madison Cornwell, 66, of Rt. 5, Scottsville died at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville. He returned to Allen County after a career in Franklin and Erie, Pa., and a member of the Shady Grove General Baptist Church.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Arch L. Heady-Johnson Funeral Home with burial in Allen County Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marie E. Shuffstall Cornwell; four sons, Lester Cornwell of Erie, Carlyle and David Cornwell, both of Rt. 5, Scottsville and Richard Cornwell of Bowling Green; three daughters, Mrs. Elaine Romanek and Mrs. Dorothy Drake, both of Erie, and Miss Bernice Cornwell of Rt. 5, Scottsville; four brothers, Chyle Cornwell of Vero Beach, Florida, Royce Cornwell of Bowling Green, Vivan Cornwell of Rt. t, Scottsville and Dalias Cornwell of Alvaton; two sisters, Mrs. Ottie Fike of California and Mrs. Catney Mae Weaver of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
