Joseph Robert Carson, son of Joseph Carson and Margaret Montgomery Carson, was born in Andrew County, Missouri, on March 15, 1845, and passed away at his home in King City, Mo., Saturday, March 24, 1934.

He was united in marriage to Martha A. Lindsay, in March 1871, and who had preceded him in death. To this union eight children were born, three of whom died in infancy. Carson, Berlin, Mo., Mrs. Sadie Berry, King City, Mo., Luther L Carson, Beaver Creek, Oregon, and Hettie M Carson of the home.

About the year 1896 he moved to Gentry County and most of his life since that time has been spent in the Berlin and King City communities, the last twenty years having been spent in King City. Besides the five children already mentioned, he is survived by two brothers, David Carson, Jackson, Tenn., James of Iola, Kansas; one sister, Miss Kate Carson, Savannah, Mo.: seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and many other relitives.
