The family will receive friends Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the Hilliard & Mullaney Funeral Home, 174 N. Lyman Street, Wadsworth, where funeral service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ken Rambo officiating. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.

He was born March 8, 1931, in Grantsville, Garrett Co, Maryland, to Walter and Etta (Hare) Beitzel and resided in Wadsworth since 1940.
He served in the Armored Division of the U.S. Army (Tank Company) during the Korean Conflict (1952-54). He worked as an automotive technician at Premier Pontiac retiring in 1998 with 11 years service. He was previously employed at Jack Sommer Chevrolet and the Ohio Match Company. He was an avid NASCAR fan and HAM Radio operator, whose call sign was KA8VQI.
Surviving are his wife, Betty (Coppage) Beitzel; sons, Jeff of Las Vegas, Nev. and David of Studio City, Calif.; brother, Bruce of California, and sisters, Darlene Sipka and Kathleen Beitzel, both of California and Maxine Erbse of Doylestown.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Pauline Nee, and brothers, Leroy and Wayne, died previously.
