He married Harriett Barton on August 1, 1850 and was the father of the following children:
Elizabeth Ann Stewart born April the 28th 1859
John Thomas Stewart born October the 29th 1857
Joseph Lafayette Stewart born March the 8th 1855 and died September 22, 1857.
Burrell Jackson Stewart born September 18th, 1857
Rufus Lunkin Stewart was born March 30th, 1860.
Benjiman Perry Stewart was born December 18th, 1862.
Wilson was in Company D, 16th SC Regiment. He became sick and was sent home where he died of pneumonia.
May he rest in peace.
His tombstone was repaired in 2008 by Henry Stewart.
