Mrs. Emma Davidson Stout, wife of Samuel J. Stout, died at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13, 1891 at her home near Glenarm, aged 34 years. Mrs. Stout was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Davidson, of Pawnee, and was born March 25, 1858, in that town. She was married Aug. 31, 1881, and resided near Glenarm since that time. She had been ill for several weeks previous to her death, and everything possible was done by her large circle of friends and relatives to save her life but to no avail. She was possessed of the charms becoming a gentle, kind and Christian woman, and she had a friend wherever she went on account of her bright and sunny disposition. In her home she was dearly beloved, and was as a child always obedient and kind to her parents, and in her home a devoted wife and mother, and always willing to aid those in need.

She is survived by her husband and four children, Mollie, Emma, Philemon, and an infant; also her parents, four brothers, George W. Davidson, Samuel M. Davidson, Thos. Davidson and Charles Davidson, and three sisters, Miss Etta Davidson, of Glenarm, and Mamie Davidson and Mrs. Moore, of Chatham. This bereavement is the more sad as it is the second time it has come upon Mr. Stout, his first wife and three children having died in 1875 within a year.

The funeral will take place today from the Sugar Creek Baptist church and the remains will be interred in the Stout family burying ground.
