Uncle Rich liked racing cars and working on them. He was a very nice man from my memories of him when he proudly showed off a car he was building many years ago

His sister related to me a story she'd been told about how Rich and his wife Ruth first met:
"Ruth and some of her girl friends were walking down the street one day. Rich and his friends happened to drive by and as boys will do, they slowed to talk to the girls, inviting them for a ride. The girls declined, but Rich was determined to get to know one young girl. The boys parked the car, Rich jumped out and ran over to Ruth, asking if he could walk her home. Ruth said yes and the rest of the story", says my Aunt, "is history."

Many thanks to Micheal Hofmann for the photos.
